Aleikoat Surfcamp Mentawai
Aleikoat Surf Camp Mentawai is a small, locally owned surf camp set on a quiet island in the Northern Mentawais, just minutes from waves like Beng Bengs and Hideaways. The camp was founded and is run by Bian, a Mentawai native who grew up on these islands and brings a deep connection to the ocean and his culture into everything he does. Aleikoat hosts just six guests at a time in charming Mentawaian-style bungalows. You can choose between the double “Manai” bungalow with ocean views or the four-bed “Toitet” dorm, both with fans, mosquito nets, private bathrooms, and front terraces for relaxing between sessions. Each day includes two guided boat trips to nearby breaks, three hearty meals with a mix of Indonesian and Western flavors, unlimited water, coffee, tea, and fresh coconuts. There is also free WiFi, airport and boat transfers, and the option to hire a surf guide for extra coaching in the water. Aleikoat offers an authentic Mentawai experience, rooted in the culture and spirit of the islands, where good waves and good company come together seamlessly.
Accommodation
Aleikoat Surf Camp keeps things simple, comfortable, and true to the Mentawai spirit. The camp hosts up to six guests in two traditional-style bungalows, built with local materials and designed for surfers to rest and recharge between sessions. The Manai Bungalow is a private double with ocean views, perfect for solo travelers or couples looking for more privacy. The Toitet Bungalow is a shared four-bed dorm, ideal for groups or those who enjoy a more social vibe. Both bungalows come with fans, mosquito nets, private bathrooms, and shaded front terraces where you can relax, watch the tides, and soak in the island atmosphere. Clean, quiet, and welcoming, Aleikoat’s bungalows give you just what you need after a day in the water.
